About the numbers:

How 3VPS Ranks Horses

3VPS = 3‑Vector Power Score Each horse gets three vectors,

1. Speed Vector (V1)

This captures the horse’s true speed profile, not just last‑race speed.

It blends:

  • AVG SPD

  • BACK SPD

  • SPD LR

  • Track‑adjusted pace efficiency

This vector answers: “How fast is this horse relative to today’s field?”

2. Class Vector (V2)

This measures the horse’s ability to compete at today’s level.

It blends:

  • CLS

  • PRM

  • Lifetime earnings efficiency

  • Strength of competition faced

This vector answers: “How strong is this horse compared to the class of today’s race?”

3. Form Vector (V3)

This captures current condition and forward‑moving potential.

It blends:

  • PWR

  • Days Off

  • Run Style fit vs. today’s bias

  • Trainer/Jockey win efficiency

  • Recent pattern (up‑cycle / down‑cycle)

This vector answers: “How well is this horse coming into today’s race?”

How the Ranking Works

  1. Compute V1, V2, V3 for every horse.

  2. Normalize all vectors across the field.

  3. Add them → 3VPS.

  4. Sort from highest to lowest.
